My Father in Heaven. I come to You as a son.
“to all who believed Him (Jesus Christ) and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God” Joh 1:12-13
I and (name of person praying with you) as witness with me.
We enter into Your presence and stand before Your throne.
“let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” Heb. 4:16
Father God I come before You with an open heart, confessing the truth about my life, the wrong choices I have made, and the way I have mismanaged my mind, soul, and body. I take full responsibility for every lie I have told - lies that meant to deceive, to cover up, and to hide my true actions and struggles. I lied out of fear and shame, desperate to keep my sinful desires and actions in the dark, afraid that anyone would see the truth of my secret life.
But today, Lord, I don’t want to hide any longer. I choose, of my own free will, to bring everything into the light and lay it before You. I refuse to let shame control me any longer. I take full responsibility for my sins, for turning away from the purpose You created me for, and for missing the mark of what You intended for my body. Father, I grieve over the ways I have hurt You and distanced myself from Your love. But I come now, humbled and broken, asking for Your mercy, Your grace, and Your healing.
“the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body” 1Cor 6:17-18
Father, I confess the sin of adultery.
“You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell” Mat 5:27-29
I have become accustomed to acting on my lustful desires, fantasies, and thoughts, using the image of another human being - someone You created in Your own image - as an object for my pleasure.
“we use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity” 2Cor 10:5-6
Father, I choose to confess, in full detail, the actions, thoughts, and desires that repeatedly tempt me into sexual sin. I no longer want to keep them in the dark, where they hold power over me.
I bring them into the light, laying bare every wrongful action, image, and fantasy before You, so that they may lose their grip on my heart and mind. (reveal the hidden or secret agenda’s, actions, images, fantasies and sexually lustful triggers that captured your mind and actions)
“but if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God's Son, purges all our sin. If we claim that we're free of sin, we're only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won't let us down; he'll be true to himself. He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing” 1John 1:7-9
Father, through Your Son, Jesus Christ, my Redeemer, I surrender every distorted and sexualized perception I have of the human body—both of men and women. I ask that You transform my thoughts and restore my vision to align with what is pure, honorable, and pleasing to You. Jesus, I bring before You my own perception of my body, my sexual desires, and my identity. I ask You to redeem them, to cleanse them, and help me to align and renew them with the truth of who I am in You. Take away every lie I have believed about myself—how I see myself, how I think about myself—and replace them with Your truth, the way You see me, the way You have designed me.
Lord, I ask You to redeem and restore every false perception that pornography and my own fantasies have created in my mind. I renew my mind with Your revealing truth, washing away the deception, so that I may see men and women as You created them— not as objects, but as Your beloved sons and daughters. Holy Spirit, I invite You into the deepest places of my mind and heart. Erase and purify my lustful memories of every explicit image, video, story, imagination, and lustful desire that has been captured in my fantacies. Cleanse what was imprinted and branded in my mind, and renew my thoughts so that they reflect Your holiness.
Teach me, Lord, how to walk in sexual purity. Show me how to see others rightly and to relate to men and women in a way that is healthy, honoring, and free from distortion. I confess and take full responsibility for seeking false comfort, escape, and pleasure in other people and in worldly sources rather than in You. I now see that my hunger and thirst for intimacy, comfort, and fulfilment is far greater than anything this world can offer.
Only You can satisfy my deepest needs.
“Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life” Joh 4:13-14
Father, I confess that I have been unfaithful to You. I have committed adultery against You by giving my heart and dependence to things that could never truly satisfy. Instead of trusting in You, I turned to the false promises of a sexualized culture, believing it could provide the answers I longed for. I confess that I opened the deepest, most intimate parts of my spirit, soul, and body to substitute pleasures - using them as a source of comfort, escape, and relief in times of struggle.
Instead of running to You, I sought to numb my pain with fleeting desires of the flesh.
I now see that I wrongfully surrendered control, allowing these things to rule over my life. But today, Lord, I choose to break free. I surrender everything back to You and ask for Your mercy, healing, and restoration.
“do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master” Rom 6:12-14
Father, I take back the authority I have surrendered to my body, my sexual desires, and my cravings. No longer will they rule over me. I choose to submit every function, every longing and every ability of my being back under Your divine purpose. My body was created for You, not for sin, and I want to honor You with it. I refuse to be controlled by my desires - I want to be ruled by You alone. I place my trust fully in You, knowing that true fulfillment comes not from my flesh but from intimacy with You. Teach me, Father, to know You more deeply, to trust You more fully, and to walk in the freedom You have given me.
Father, I ask for Your wisdom and for a way out of temptation when it comes. Show me the path to purity, and give me the strength to walk in it.
“the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” 1Cor 10:13
Father, I ask You to restore my ability to discern right from wrong. Renew my conscience in the places where I deliberately silenced it so that I could pursue my sinful desires. Let me feel the weight of conviction again so that I may choose holiness over temptation. Today, I renounce and break all ties with every lustful memory, image, and fantasy. I reject and divorce every imprint left in my heart and mind from those I have looked at with sinful intent or committed adultery with in my thoughts. I no longer want to be bound by these chains.
Father, I confess You alone as my true source of comfort, intimacy, pleasure, and refuge. No longer will I seek escape in the things of this world. Teach me, Lord, to rise up and take full responsibility as a man. Help me to face my struggles head-on, to work through my disappointments, anger, and frustrations in a way that honors You. Give me the wisdom and strength to find real solutions, rather than running to false comforts.
“And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t make light of the LORD’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way” Heb 12:5-11
Thank You, Father, for Your loving discipline. I know You correct me because You love me as a son, and I receive Your guidance with humility. I confess my disobedience and rebellion against Your ways, knowing that I acted out of ignorance and a lack of trust in You. But today, I choose to surrender fully, believing that You hold my life and my eternal future in Your hands. Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your redemption and healing in every part of my being. I choose to walk with You, to submit to Your authority, and to allow You to lead me on the path of righteousness. I open my heart to You completely—change me, transform me, and make me new.
“I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne” Rev 3:19-21
Father, I long to draw close to You again. I want to have deep, intimate conversations with You, to walk in communion with You as I once did. Restore the connection that sin has dulled, and let me hear Your voice clearly in my heart once more. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to redeem the time and energy I have wasted—time lost in selfish desires, distractions, and sinful pursuits. Take all the opportunities I misused, the thoughts I corrupted, and the imaginations I distorted, and restore them for Your glory.
Fill my mind with purity, my heart with willingness, and my soul with renewed strength to do Your will. Father, open my eyes to see the purpose and calling You have for my life. Let my thoughts align with Yours, my desires be shaped by Your truth, and my energy be devoted to pursuing what is good, holy, and pleasing to You.
“if you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts” 2Tim 2:21-22
Father, I bring before You all the shame and fear that I have carried. These burdens have built up in my heart through the things I’ve done, the choices I’ve made, and the secrets I tried to hide from You and from those who wanted to help me. But now, I choose to lay them down at Your feet. I receive Your forgiveness and healing, knowing that it was paid for by the precious, redemptive sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. His pain, His blood, His love—He took it all for me, and I accept His grace with an open heart. I receive the power of Your redemption, Lord—the cleansing that washes me from every sin, every failure, and every unrighteousness. I am free because of what Jesus did for me.
Thank You, Father, for restoring the closeness of our relationship, for renewing the intimacy that I had lost. Thank You for filling me with Your peace, for surrounding me with Your presence, and for sending Your Holy Spirit to dwell within me, guiding me, comforting me, and transforming me.
Amen.
